Brakelight Switch location 2011 Audi TT Mk2 2.0 Tdi

Whereabouts in the car is the ‘Brakelight Switch’ located on my 2011 Audi TT Mk2 2.0 Tdi?

Note: It’s NOT in front of the brake pedal like it used to be on the Mk1 Audi TT. :0(

I have an EPS Light & Glowplugs light ‘flashing’ on the dashboard, but my brake lights still work okay at the rear, but I’ve been told this is usually a ‘brakelight switch’ fault.

Any idea where it’s located, or anything else I could check? Thanks

  1. Hello

If the brake light switch is not located at the pedal, it is located at the master brake cylinder.

But, an EPS light and glow plug light can tendon a lot of things. Read the trouble codes before replacing and wasting money on parts that were not broken ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Ah okay, thanks.

Where’s the master brake cylinder located?

If it’s in the engine bay, is it visible and if so, what does it look like?

I’m going to get the codes read this week, just want to avoid the stealers that’s all.

    Many thanks

  3. Yes if you can see the brake fluid reservoir, it is located just under that with some brake lines attached to it. There should be a sensor mounted on it ๐Ÿ™‚
