Im trying to change rear break pads on my volkswagen passat 3c but I cant push in the cylinder on the brake caliper.
i searched the web and saw that you can put power and ground to the caliper to reset it. is that true or will i damage anything?

  1. You have to push back the pistons with a diagnostic tool.

You can push them back manually to give them power. But I wouldnt recommend as you could damage anything AND YOU HAVE TO MAKE A BASIC SETTING with the diagnostic tool after you replaced the pads anyway.

So get a diagnostic tool on ebay or lend from a friend or let a workshop do the job for you!
