2003 Ford escape, why is my car’s rpm rising once I put my car in park? It sounds like my engine is revving up

It could be due to a faulty Throttle body. But the best way to find out is to read the trouble code memory. Another tip is to try cleaning the throttle body to see if there is any difference.
You could also have an intake leak at a vacuum hose. Normally you can listen around the intake for any leaks when the car is at idle.
