White smoke 2010 cooper s

Asked by: 23 views Engine Question

I have a 2010 cooper s that has 64000 miles on it. I noticed a light amount of white smoke coming from under the hood when idling that looks like steam and smells somewhat like burned oil. this happened a few times early in the morning in cold days after the car warms up, then goes away after a few minutes. the car doesn’t over heat or any thing. what might be the problem?

Check for any signs of oil leakage over the exhaust manifold. The most common thing is that it drops oil on that, and the heat make it to disappear, so can be really hard to see 🙂

Actually I saw a leak on the turbocharger and that is definetly where the smoke is coming from. It might be the oil feed pipe or something.
