If nothing happens at all when you are trying to crank the vehicle, there might be a problem with your starter, starter relay, ignition lock or a problem with the shifter/gear selector sensor.

The service/engine light is ON cause of when you are trying to crank the engine, but nothing happens it can store a trouble code.

The easiest way to solve this is to read the trouble code memory to check what the trouble code says, or check if there is coming 12v power on the starter solenoid, or to put 12volt on the solenoid to see if it cranks.
If there is coming 12-volt power to the starter solenoid, but nothing happens, your starter is blown.

Make sure the battery is properly charged.
