Missing tube that connects to gas tank Ford Fiesta

Asked by: 9 views Fuel Question

I have a 2015 Ford Fiesta hatchback with a 1.6 engine.
I have had my car since the end of February. The other day I went to put gas into my car with a gas can because it wouldn’t make it to the gas station. When I poured the gas I, it all came out of the bottom through a small tube. When looking underneath it looks as if a piece is missing that connects to the gas tank. I can’t put gas in my car at all. I keep hearing about a fuel filler neck but I am not having a problem putting gas into my car. I am having a problem with it getting into my tank because a piece is missing.

There is a metal plate you have to push in with a screwdriver or something at the same time as you are pouring the fuel into the tank. If you are not doing it, the fuel will run out through the spill hose.

I hope this can help you out if I understood your question right.
