I have a 2015 Honda Civic Coupe with a 1.4L engine unfortunately I was not able to purchase a Honda Civic Coupe Si. I really want to do an engine swap and i found and engine assembly for a 2.4L that belonged to a Honda Civic Si, I want to know what risks and issues I could be facing if i went through with swapping the engine also what would i mostly need i have most of the parts but i want to know if it’s even worth it.

  1. Hello

Unless you do not have very high mechanical skills, I do not recommend it.
It’s not impossible, but there are a lot of things that can differ. I Have never heard anyone did it and do not know exactly how hard it is.

To do an engine swap, everything has to be taken in mind, Aircondition hoses should match, ecu should match, immobilizer probably has to be re-coded.

All ecu’s are programmed to talk with each other, and if you replace the engine control unit and it has to be reprogrammed because there are anti-theft systems in there. ( If even possible )

So, generally its much easier and cheaper to sell the car and buy the right car from the first place. 🙂
