I would like to buy a 2004 Mazda 6 from someone, but they say there is a problem they can\’t figure out and that is why the price is low. the car must be ran at 3000 rpm any lower and the engine chokes. Is this a symptom of a potentially large issue or can it be fixed with minor work? Thank you for your help.

  1. Hi brandin

The problem can be alot of things unfortunately.

But in general if the engine chokes it is because of an air leak or lack of fuel to the engine.

The easiest thing here is to read the fault memory and spray brakecleaner around the intake to see if it have any leaks.
Clean the throttle body and do a basic setting could also fix it. But before you buy it I would tell them to give you the fault codes and do some research about them 🙂
If you read the fault memory and post the fault codes here I can help you out more 🙂
