New Vehicle Purchase 2018 Toyota Tundra

I am interested in buying a new 2018 Toyota Tundra Crewmax 5.7 V8. Recently I test drove one that I liked and it drove great. They are discounting these trucks for 4k-5k below MSRP. They have several at the local Toyota dealer. But I noticed looking at the label inside the drivers door that states the vin# date of manufacturing on the one I test drove and 3 others were built on August 2017. I estimate they have been sitting on the dealer lot for 6 months since October 2017. Before I buy is there any concern I should have mechanically on buying a new vehicle that has been sitting on the lot for 6 months? How about the battery?

  1. Hello

If the car has been sitting for a long time you should check that there are no vibrations etc from the brake discs. The battery etc should do fine with a new car.

BUT, check the car carefully. I’ve heard a lot of stories when the car has been “Standing for 6 months”, but in reality, they have not. It was used by an owner before and they turned the mileage on the dashboard back.
