I have a 1999 chevy suburban with 350 engine. It will start with starting fluid but will not stay running. Fuel pump is new and working but not getting enough fuel to engine. Dont not have a fuel pressure gauge. But it.doesn\’t have much pressure at the pressure valve on top of engine. Could it be a stopped up fuel filter or frozen lines or filter. It will run as long as i put starting fluid in it. Not sure what else to do.

  1. Hello.

I think the easiest thing here is to get a cheap fuel pressure meter to check pressure.
It could be several things but if it starts with starting fluid the rpms and ignition should be OK.

So as I said, you really should check the fuel pressure, there is very cheap meters out there. If you dont have fuel pressure or low pressure you can try to change fuel filter.
You have to make sure that you didnt mixed up the pressure and return fuel lines when fuel pump replaced, Also that the wirings to it isnt mixed up, the pump will go backwards if you did.

Have seen it several times both mixed lines and mixed wires inside the tank.
