Slip light Nissan Frontier

Asked by: 37 views Transmission question

I know i have bad cats on my 2005 Nissan Frontier. But I was just driving and all of a sudden I went to accelerate and nothing happened. The engine didn\’t rev at all. Just the natural propelling from being in gear. And the SLIP light came on the dash board. Is it because of the cats?

    Hello apapsimo!

It has probably nothing to do with the catalyst converters
The slip light is telling you that it’s something wrong with the traction control.
The traction system is working like that, if it thinks the car lost traction it’s reducing the engine speed.
It is probably a faulty wheel sensor but what you have to do is to read the fault memory from traction control/ESP/ABS to see which codes it gives you.

You can post the fault codes you get and post them here and I’ll help you out 🙂
