Transmission fluid leak 2006 Chevy Silverado 2wd 4.3l v6

2006 Silverado 2wd 4.3l v6

Truck has been sitting for about 4 months, drove it last week with no problems, came out yesterday and most of my transmission fluid had leaked out under the front u joint. U joint was wet, and so was drive shaft going into transmission, but everything beyond those two points were dry. Filled up with fluid, ran it for a bit and drove it, and let it sit. As of today there is no more leaking. Should I bother looking into the seals, and if so, which ones? Thank you.

The rear seal can leak a bit if the car has been sitting for some months and the prop shaft has “hanging it down”.
If you are driving and it stops leaking, I wouldn’t bother because that is pretty normal when a car is standing for a long time.
When the shaft has been spinning for some time it does often soften it up and the leak is gone.

But clean it up properly and keep an eye for any leaks. If it’s leaking, you should replace the rear seal into the transmission
