Trouble Code p0722 2006 cadillac 4.6

Asked by: 37 views Trouble Code Questions

I have a 2006 cadillac dts it has the 4.6 north star engine and my vehicle recently started sticking in first or second gear so i had it put on a machine and got code 0722-00 output speed sensor circuit low voltage ..Was wondering if i replaced tranny fluid and filter would it possibly fix this or should i replace this sensor.Someone said it’s a lot of labor like lowering engine etc over 1000 dollars parts and labor is this correct?Btw after i put vehicle on machine engine light is now on and the vehicle is shifting to where i can drive like 45 mph instead of 25mph but i was afraid to drive it any faster or any further.

It’s most likely not a fluid problem because it’s an electrical trouble code. Sometimes fluid replacement can fix a lot of transmission problems, but in this case, I think it’s an open circuit.

Can you remove the trouble code or will it come back directly?

If that’s the case that you can’t remove it, I would let a mechanic measure the wirings to the sensor before replacement. The sensor does often get 2 pins and you can OHM measure them to see if there is an open circuit or not.
Check the connector to the sensor and look for any corrosion and any damages to the wirings.
Would do that before a replacement of the sensor.
